The month of APRIL calls for celebration - it’s Occupational
Therapy Month!
The Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy
is excited to celebrate each of the dedicated, hard-working, and creative
occupational therapy practitioners who just happen to make-up over 3,500
actively licensed individuals across this state!
Beginning on April 1, 2025, until April 30, 2025, the great
state of Alabama is observing Occupational Therapy Month and has received an
official proclamation from Governor Kay Ivey! The FULL proclamation is
available on the governor’s website at the link HERE: https://governor.alabama.gov/newsroom/2025/03/occupational-therapy-month-2/
April is the 45th annual National Occupational
Therapy Month; a time when we get a chance to recognize the efforts of those
who are in the occupational therapy field whether you're an occupational
therapist or an occupational therapy assistant.
FUN FACT:
National Occupational Therapy Month started in 1980 and corresponds with the American
Occupational Therapy Association's (AOTA) Annual Conference. This year, AOTA’s
conference will occur in Philadelphia, PA from April 3-5, 2025. To find out
more about the 2025 AOTA INSPIRE Conference, please visit AOTA’s online
resources available HERE: https://inspire.aota.org/
The members of the board and its staff want to express their deepest appreciation for the
occupational therapy practice, education, advocacy, and professional
advancement each and every one of you do on a daily basis, and are grateful
to serve thousands of consumers, licensees, students, and other interested
members of the public in the state of Alabama.
Wishing you all the best and happiest OT Month!
