MONTGOMERY – On
Tuesday, Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill confirmed that Republican Presidential candidate and former
Florida Governor Jeb Bush will make a campaign stop in Alabama.
Governor Bush will attend the Alabama vs. LSU football game
in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at Bryant-Denny Stadium on November 7, 2015. The visit
will be part of four Southeastern Conference game day visits, called "SEC
Tailgating with Jeb."
“We are excited to
have Governor Bush back in our state! Seven of the top ten Republican
candidates have made campaign stops in Alabama, which is unprecedented for our
state,” said Secretary of State John Merrill. “When this many Presidential
candidates are choosing to visit and re-visit Alabama, it is proof the SEC
Primary is working. The main goal of this effort is to create an environment
that forces candidates to appeal to an even larger and more complete
constituency than they currently do, and I am proud to see our state
receiving the attention it deserves. It is so important that Alabamians have
the opportunity to interact with all candidates in order to learn who best
reflects their views.
As Secretary of
State, I will continue to position Alabama and the South as a place where
Presidential candidates are willing to make an effort to visit and meet our
remarkable people.”
Additional details on
Governor Bush’s visit will be provided closer to date.
As a reminder, Hillary Clinton, Presidential candidate and
former United States Secretary of State, will address the ADC Semi-Annual
