MONTGOMERY
– On
October 6, 2015, the Office of the Secretary of State, in conjunction with the
City of Montgomery, will conduct a pilot project to collect and report results from
the Montgomery City Runoff Election.
This election night results will be reported to the
Secretary of State’s website located at http://www.alabamavotes.gov/electionnight/cityresultsbycontest.aspx?ecode=220&cid=03 and
are available for public viewing.
After the polls have
closed on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., the first results will be electronically
transmitted to the Office of the Secretary of State and streamed to the
website. The plan is for the Montgomery County Probate Office to continually
update numbers throughout the evening.
“After two successful
pilot projects, we are excited to share the pilot project with the public. The objective
of live reporting is to allow our citizens to be informed and track the results
as they come in,” said Secretary Merrill. “This will be a great resource for
our citizens, providing efficient and real time election results, as well as
ensuring the information is readily available. I want to thank the City of Montgomery
and the Montgomery County Probate Office for their partnership with this
project.”
