Chilton County Fall Forestry Tour Oakmulgee Ranger District, Talladega National Forest

TOUR OBJECTIVES:
1) Introduce you to one of our “nation’s forests”.
2) Demonstrate scientific management of forest resources.
3) Serve up a pleasant and enjoyable day outdoors with Fall colors and wildflowers, wildlife and rolling hills of longleaf pines.
SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 75 PEOPLE TO REGISTER:
Meet at Parnell Logging, Inc. just east of Maplesville at intersection of US HWY 22 and State Route 191 before 8:30 where you will park for the day, meet US Forest Service hosts and load school buses. We will drive through the portion of this forest that is within Chilton County, stop at interesting points
along the way, eat BBQ cooked and served in the forest, and come back to your vehicle. Tour will take place rain or shine and will include some walking in the woods; dress comfortably and wear outdoor shoes or boots. Portalets will be provided at two locations along the way.
