The Alabama Department of Public Health was informed that an airline passenger arriving in Birmingham, Ala., on Oct. 9, 2014, became ill during flight. The individual had not been in any
area affected by Ebola.
Dr. Mark Wilson, Health Officer, Jefferson County Department of Health, stated, “There is no reason to suspect Ebola. This passenger has not been in an Ebola-affected area.”
Health authorities state that there is no reason to believe that this individual could have come in contact with Ebola and the public should not be concerned.
