The Alabama Department of Public Health wants to ensure that anyone considering selling food at the upcoming Highway 48 Yard Sale in October is aware that they must comply with food
service regulations.
“We want to make sure that food vendors who may have made a significant financial investment to set up for the yard sale know that they may need a permit to sell their products,” Area
Environmental Director Lem Burell said. “They need to contact the Health Department prior to the event if they will be selling food.”
Questions about food quality and safety are handled by county health department environmentalists. Please call the Clay County Health Department at (256) 396-6421 or the Randolph County Health Department at (334) 863-3445 for information on requirements.
