11th Annual Alabama Invasive Plant Council Meeting - May 8, 2013

The Alabama Invasive Plant Council Annual Conference is being held on May 8 at the 4-H Center in Columbiana.  In addition to the keynote address: ‘Eucalyptus: The future of forestry or just another tallowtree?’, topics covered include the biology and control of  Chinese tallowtree, Liriope and English ivy, invasive plant control in longleaf pine, the accomplishments of the Cogongrass Control Program and an update on pythons in Florida.  Afternoon field workshops will cover aquatic plant ID and control, kudzu bugs, invasive plant mapping and ALIPC plant list updates.  To see the agenda, get directions and register please visit the ALIPC web site: http://www.se-eppc.org/alabama/.   Pre-registration is open through April 29.

Pesticide recertification, registered forester, certified crop advisor and professional logger credits will be available.  It is expected that there will be 10 AL pesticide points and 4-6 CFE points for the meeting.
