Accion Texas Inc. Names Lisa Riley Delta Manager
Tuscaloosa Native Will Direct Lending and Education Activities In Six States
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The nation’s largest microlending organization, Accion Texas Inc., has promoted Alabama Market Manager Lisa Riley to Delta Manager.
Riley will remain based in Birmingham (at One 55th Place South, Suite #01), but in addition to her ongoing responsibilities throughout Alabama, she will now oversee Accion’s small business lending and education programs in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.
She will be responsible for the management and performance of the nonprofit organization’s loan programs throughout the region, supervising all lending staff, fundraising, public relations, marketing and more.
“Lisa is a dynamic member of our team and we are proud of her contributions to Accion’s outreach in Alabama and the entire Delta region,” said Chief Lending Officer Dan Lawless. “We look forward to helping even more aspiring entrepreneurs and existing small businesses under her leadership.”
Riley launched Accion’s Alabama operations in January 2012. She is well established and highly regarded in business and civic circles throughout the state, most recently being named chair of the Minority Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. She serves on the boards of the Autism Society of Alabama, Cornerstone Ministries Inc. and Arts ‘N Autism. She also is a member of the Verner Elementary School PTA in Tuscaloosa. She is currently majoring in business at the University of West Alabama.
Since opening its doors in Birmingham last year, Accion in Alabama has made small business loans totaling more than $400,000. Throughout the Delta region, Accion loaned nearly $1 million in 2012.
