TUSCALOOSA, AL – The Alabama Small Business Development Center Network announced the appointment of a new advisory board for the purpose of developing strategies to assist the Network with creating and growing small businesses in Alabama. The newly-formed Alabama SBDC Network Advisory Board recently held its inaugural meeting in Birmingham to discuss ways to assist the Network with its mission to support Alabama’s small businesses in the areas of business start-up, capital access, international trade, and government procurement. The Alabama SBDC Network, established in 1980, is a university-based economic development program for small business counseling and training in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Alabama SBDC Network is part of a national organization of 63 SBDC state networks with over 1,000 field counseling centers across the USA and is an accredited member of the National Association of Small Business Development Centers.
