HOOVER, Alabama -- Peter Goodman, the executive business editor for The Huffington Post, is scheduled to kick off day two of a business innovation conference at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover this morning.
Goodman, author of "Past Due: The End of Easy Money and the Renewal of the American Economy," is the morning keynote speaker at the Alabama Launchpad Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference being organized by the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama.
Other morning speakers scheduled include Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley, Lara Lee, the chief innovation and operating officer for Continuum, and Tony Maricocchi of GE Aviation.
Robert Abrams, the CEO of CV Holdings, is the keynote speaker at lunch, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Dean Sicking, who designed NASCAR's SAFER barriers, speaks this afternoon.
There also will be two panel discussions this afternoon -- one on trends in federal innovation funding and another on the power of partnerships, featuring the story of the Birmingham Business Alliance's partnership with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
