MONTGOMERY, AL -- Secretary of State Beth Chapman will join Senator Mitch McConnell on a panel at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC in opposition to the National Popular Vote movement.
"I will not support any action to weaken the voices of Alabama citizens in electing the President of the United States," Chapman said. "Just because we are a smaller state does not mean our votes should count any less."
Other speakers at the event include secretaries of state from Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. Chapman currently serves as president of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
The event is sponsored by the Heritage Foundation and the State Government Leadership Foundation.
You can view the conference at http://www.heritage.org/events/2011/12/electoral-college on December 7th beginning at 9 a.m.
