MONTGOMERY, Alabama—Commissioner John McMillan today invited the River Region community to the State Farmers Market’s Fall Festival to be held Saturday, October 1.
“We want families to come to the State Farmers Market this Saturday and enjoy the many fun activities at our Fall Festival,” McMillan said.
There will be hayrides, fire truck tours, demonstrations by Montgomery firefighters, pumpkin painting contests, a flea market, arts and crafts, a pumpkin patch and refreshments.
“We appreciate the Montgomery Fire Department for their participation, as well as the Sun South, the local John Deere people and WalMart,” said McMillan, commissioner of the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries, sponsor for the event.
“During these times when families must live on tight budgets, we wanted to offer this event as something people can do to have fun but spend very little or no money,” McMillan added.
The Fall Festival will be free to the public. Hours are 8 am to 4 pm. Weather for the day is forecast to be clear skies and in the 70s.
