MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Alabama's annual Farmers Market Day will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011. Local farmers will display their best homegrown produce and flowers and provide tons of fun for everybody.
Among the many exciting events planned are a Watermelon Eatin' Contest and a Corn Shuckin' Contest. All participants are encouraged to see if they can “Out Shuck” Commissioner of Agriculture & Industries John McMillan.
All events will take place at the Montgomery State Farmers Market on Federal Drive next to Garrett Coliseum. Farmers Market Day will offer something exciting for everyone to enjoy so get there early to find the best selection of your favorite fruits and vegetables.
