Due to the retirement of Zelma Floyd, the Geneva County Board of Human Resources has appointed Jennifer Stephens DeMarcus as the new Geneva County DHR Director effective July 10, 2004.
Mrs. DeMarcus has been with the Department of Human Resources for 28 years. She has worked as a Child Welfare Worker in Lauderdale, Jefferson, Morgan, and Madison Counties. Mrs. DeMarcus also worked in Madison County as a Service Supervisor supervising intake, investigations, protective services, foster care, and adult services. She has also worked in Family Services in the Office of County Systems Support. In July 2003, she was promoted to Program Supervisor in Morgan County.
Mrs. DeMarcus received her Masters of Social Work from The University of Alabama in 1980 and is a Licensed Social Worker at the LCSW level.
