The executive director of the National Foster Parent Association joined Commissioner Walley in praising the AFAPA. "The Alabama Foster and Adoptive Parent Association is an exemplary association, strengthening the relationship between foster parents and the Department of Human Resources," said Karen Jorgenson. "The AFAPA supports the foster parents of Alabama through efforts such as the Foster Parent Bill of Rights and the provision of student scholarships," she said.
