MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Secretary of State Beth Chapman reports that she has received numerous telephone calls asking whether Tuesday’s general election will be postponed due to a lawsuit filed this week which asks for a delay in voting.
"Next week’s election will go on as scheduled," said Chapman. "Any request to stop the election at this late date is unreasonable, would be a huge burden to the taxpayer, and would disenfranchise every single voter in this state. That will not happen on my watch."
Today, October 28th, is the last day to request an absentee ballot. To print out an application for an absentee ballot or find contact information for an Absentee Election Manager, voters may go to www.alabamavotes.gov.
Voters may also go to www.alabamavotes.gov to look up polling place information and to see a sample ballot. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM on Tuesday, November 2nd.
