MONTGOMERY, Ala- Secretary of State Beth Chapman has been selected to represent Alabama and the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) on the executive committee of the Council of State Governments. Chapman was selected because of her knowledge of the work conducted by the Council of State Governments and her leadership in state government issues.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the citizens of Alabama and my fellow secretaries of state with the Council of State Governments," said Chapman. "This is a group known nationwide for its leadership in solving problems and building leaders in state government. I look forward to having the opportunity to represent my peers and my state with this distinguished organization."
Chapman was selected last year to serve as a Toll Fellow, a leadership program of the Council of State Governments, with state officials from all three branches of government.
In July, Chapman was elected as President-Elect of the National Association of Secretaries of State and is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Standards Board of the US Election Assistance Commission.
