Marshall County Health Department offers family planning services

The Marshall County Health Department offers birth control information, counseling and a suitable method of contraception to those in the childbearing age group. Spanish-speaking staff and interpreters are available.

The Family Planning Program promotes healthy mothers and babies and the wellbeing of
families. Different methods of contraception may be right for each individual. Services include natural family planning counseling.

Advantages of preventing unintended pregnancy through family planning include the following:

  • You and your family can enjoy a better life with less worry over unplanned pregnancy
  • Babies have a better chance of being healthy.
  • Parents can better provide for their family, both financially and emotionally.
  • Children also get more time and attention.

A wide range of confidential and professional family planning services are provided regardless of income or national origin. Education and complete physical examinations, including Pap smears, are provided before birth control supplies are given.
The Marshall County Health Department is located between Albertville and Guntersville at 150 Judy Smith Drive in Guntersville off U.S. Highway 431 behind Applebees restaurant.

Hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
