(Montgomery)
Alabama Lieutenant Governor Jim Folsom, Jr. was honored Tuesday for his many
years of ongoing work on behalf of Alabama’s
Senior Citizens.
Alabama’s
Area Agencies on Aging awarded Folsom with the title “Senior Promise Keeper” for his ongoing support of senior issues and
his renewed pledge to recognize and address the needs of Alabama's senior citizens through his efforts to
promote their independence, dignity and quality of life.
Upon receiving the award, Folsom said, “Although the State is
again facing funding shortfalls that will affect the lives of Alabamians, we
are here again today to make sure we do not overlook the almost one million
Older Alabamians who have contributed so much to their communities and our
state. We must keep the Senior Promise
that we will recognize and address the needs of Alabama’s
senior citizens to promote their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
