RE: Follow-Up to June 15, 2026 ALERT - Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy Diagnostic Requirements

The Alabama Medicaid Agency (Medicaid) is issuing this ALERT as a follow-up to the June 15, 2026, ALERT titled “Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy Diagnostic Requirements.”

Medicaid is pausing implementation related to the July 1, 2026, deadline discussed in the ALERT.

Medicaid will be issuing additional guidance and clarity on this issue. It should be noted this pause does not change the requirement that billing be performed in accordance with Medicaid’s rules, regulations and billing manual.
