RE:       Dental Participation Payment

Effective for dates of service on and after October 1, 2025, the Alabama Medicaid Agency (Medicaid) will reimburse oral health providers for a Dental Participation Payment via D0999 when billed with other dental services at a rate of $10 per date of service.

• The Dental Participation Payment will be paid once per recipient per performing provider per date of service for covered dental services. 
  
  
• Providers should include D0999 as a claim detail along with other covered dental procedure codes, except dental anesthesiology billed via D1999. D0999 will not be paid on the same date of service as D1999. D0999 should not be billed as a standalone service.
  
  
• A prior authorization is not required for D0999.
