NOTICE: UPCOMING BOARD MEMBER VACANCIES


Upcoming Available Seats:

(1) OT Member  – Occupational Therapist Representative

(1) OTA Member  – Occupational Therapy Assistant Representative


Term Length: 3 YEARS                                                Senate Confirmable: NO


DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the Board is to assure the availability of high-quality occupational therapy services to persons in need through the regulation of those offering themselves as occupational therapists or occupational therapy assistants.

SEAT RESTRICTIONS: Four members shall be involved in the practice of occupational therapy, of which one shall be an occupational therapy assistant.

These members shall have been engaged in rendering services to the public, teaching, or research in occupational therapy for at least three years, and shall at all times be holders of valid licenses for the practice of occupational therapy in Alabama.

Each member of the board shall be a citizen of this state.

The occupational therapy board members shall be appointed by the Governor from a list submitted by the Alabama Occupational Therapy Association.


The Alabama Occupational Therapy Association (ALOTA) is seeking candidates for the following upcoming Board Member Roles:


Position: Occupational Therapist Representative

Effective Appointment Date: January 1, 2025 (term begins)

Term End Date: January 1, 2028

Incumbent: Ms. Tracy O’Connor, MS OTR/L

 

Position: Occupational Therapist Assistant Representative

Effective Appointment Date: January 1, 2025 (term begins)

Term End Date: January 1, 2028

Incumbent: Ms. Annette Harman, COTA/L
