Press Release: Alcoholic Beverage Control Board

Alabama ABC Board temporarily closes stores, adjusts hours at other stores in response to hazardous road conditions

The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is temporarily closing several of its stores and modifying business hours at its stores located across the state today and Wednesday in response to hazardous weather and driving conditions.

“The safety of our customers and store staff is paramount,” ABC Board Administrator Curtis Stewart said. “We will continue to evaluate the situation as it relates to health and safety.”

All ABC Stores located in Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Jackson, Marshall, Marion, Pickens, Walker, Choctaw and Dekalb counties will be closed today and Wednesday.

The following ABC Stores located in other counties will be closed today and Wednesday. Those stores are Store 15 Cullman; Store 17 Fairfield; Store 30 Tarrant City; Store 70 Roebuck; Store 98 Vestavia Hills; Store 146 Pelham (U.S. 119); Store 184 Calera; Store 185 Leeds; Store 192 Birmingham (wholesale only); and Store 233 Alabaster.

The following stores will be open from noon to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow. Store 9 Lincoln; Store 11 Birmingham (southside); Store 14 Bessemer; Store 18 Birmingham (downtown); Store 20 Birmingham (Finley Ave.); Store 26 Bessemer (I-459); Store 27 Childersburg; Store 28 Sylacauga; Store 29 Helena; Store 39 Trussville; Store 55 Mountain Brook; Store 58 Hoover; Store 68 Talladega; Store 78 Wedowee; Store 80 Birmingham (U.S. 280); Store 83 Hueytown; Store 104 Pell City; Store 107 Springville; Store 109 Fultondale; Store 111 Homewood; Store 125 Pelham; Store 140 Birmingham (Five Points West); Store 144 Adamsville; Store 176 Chelsea; and store 236 Birmingham (wholesale only).

The ABC Board will continue to monitor weather reports and update this list, as needed, based on weather and road conditions.
