FORT MIMS ANNUAL LIVING HISTORY RE-ENACTMENT

Annual Living History Re-enactment
Saturday-Sunday, August 26-27
9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Fort Mims, Tensaw, Alabama


The Fort Mims Restoration Association will hold its annual Fort Mims Living History Re-enactment on August 26-27 from 9:00am-3:00pm.

Visitors will enjoy cultural presentations, a speaker’s forum, artifacts on display, and demonstrations such as wool spinning, quilting, archery, and more. There will also be daily re-enactments – Battle of Burnt Corn re-enactment at 11:00 a.m. and Fort Mims re-enactment at 2:00 p.m.

Onsite parking and concessions are available. A shuttle service is provided for offsite parking.

Fort Mims, a historic property of the Alabama Historical Commission, commemorates the Fort Mims battle that took place August 30, 1813. The attack on the Fort is considered a leading cause of the Creek War of 1813-1814. This site is operated by the Fort Mims Restoration Association.

The five acre site of Fort Mims is located 3 miles west on County Road 80, off Hwy 59 in Tensaw in Baldwin County. It is 12 miles north of Stockton.

About the Alabama Historical Commission
Located in historic downtown Montgomery at 468 S. Perry Street, the Alabama Historical Commission is the state historic preservation agency for Alabama.
