THE GOAT HILL MUSEUM STORE TO HOST BOOK EVENT WITH ALABAMA FOOD CELEBRITY
The Goat Hill Museum Store (inside the historic Alabama State Capitol at the Union Street entrance) will host a book signing with Christy Jordan, author of Sweetness: Southern Recipes to Celebrate the Warmth, the Love and the Blessings of a Full Life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 11:00am-1:00pm.
Jordan, an Alabama food celebrity, is a successful author, cook, and TV personality. Her deep southern roots are evident in her newest book Sweetness, which is centered on family and tradition.
In Sweetness Jordan celebrates the sweet spirit and taste of Southern hospitality while reflecting on the values she learned from her parents and grandparents. "That generation is the greatest people that have ever been on Earth," she said. "If I have an ability to make them known to the rest of the world, how they were, how they loved and shaped me, I want to do that."
“The dinner table is kind of the anchor that holds the family together." That's why "Sweetness" works so well as both a cookbook and a good reminder of what matters. (quotes retrieved from http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2016/10/alabama_food_celebrity_christy.html) Stacey Little, author of The Southern Bite Cookbook, will also be featured and available for book signings.
Copies of Sweetness will be available for purchase at the Goat Hill Museum Store.
